I'm having a day, folks. Couldn't tell you exactly why but I feel restless and anxious. Just keep circling job postings online looking for something to update. Y'know, on a Friday. I tried playing some games, reading, I don't know, I just feel unsettled.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. I had a friend call me yesterday and thank me for being his friend because without me he might be dead by now. So that ... was kind of a lot to take in. I've said before that we were all abused kids trying to learn a language other than abuse to take care of each other.

2. I am grateful for my buddy who agreed to take a look at the Module I've been working on all this time. He said he should be able to look at it sometime today and give me feedback. Hopefully, he sees some stuff I missed or can tell me what parts are working and can be left alone.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

My wife's anniversary gift finally arrived. She got us a matching set of High Roller Solid Gold d20 that have 20 on every side. She said it was a sign that our luck was changing. Here's hoping she's onto something because I sure could use it.

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

I think today is shaping up to be one of those days where the best i can hope for is to just function at a suboptimal level, y'know? Like, it's the best I can offer. I'm just so tired and stressed and I don't know what to do with everything.

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

Only positive things I assure you. No negative self-talk and/or catastrophizing in this noggin, let me tell you! Honestly, the most concrete thought on my mind is that my daily walk is going to suck. It's 25°F and we got around 4 inches of snow. So that'll be fun.

Apologies if this blog isn't very much fun to read. Some days be like that, y'know? I'm not beating myself up for having a bad day, but I do feel bad about visiting it on others. Fortunately, I keep these pretty short so it shouldn't be too bad. Thanks for sticking it out.
All best
Shane Z.

THE BOOK NOOK

Superman: The Unauthorized Biography
Glen Weldon

I enjoyed this book. Sometimes it felt like it missed the forest for the trees, but it was still enjoyable. My favorite part though was learning that the Clark/Superman dichotomy has been a back-and-forth battle for decades. Who is the real man and who is the act? Good stuff.
