Hey gang, long day. Cassie had a rough time at work and that passed along to me. We did go grocery shopping but only after she cried. Long day.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful for Monte Cook's Consent in Roleplay checklist. So far 3 of my 7 players have filled it out and while it looks like what I expected (for the most part), it's still empowering to know I have a starting point for building encounters for them. Now I just have to sell them on Lines and Veils and other safety tools.
2. I am grateful for "All My Fantasy Children". I've been working through their back catalog in those quiet moments. I love going back and seeing how things I've heard so much about in passing first came to be
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
Okay, so bear with me. I have a bunch of fantasy maps on the wall, but finding frames for them all is a lot of effort. Not to mention, it's expensive as hell. So I bought some boxcutters and a cheap frame from Walmart and cut it down to the appropriate size and it worked pretty well!
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
So I have a few things to choose from, like my Depression Supplement, my novel, or just chores I fell behind on the past few days. Oh, speaking of my Supplement, does anyone in the comments know if "Fight or Flight" is valid? So much psychology has been debunked that I don't know what resources I can rely on.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
It's interesting how my Numenera players react to safety tools. They're so foreign that they struggle to conceptualize their usefulness. I'm still forging ahead, partially for them, but also for me. To empower me to run the game more confidently and safely. After all, I'm a player too!
