It's-a-me-birthday! Wahoo! Oh god, I'm so old (I'm 31). I look (feel) like the CRYPT KEEPER (It's not that bad)! Truth be told, much like Christmas Eve, I slept like shit last night. I don't know what it is, but the night before a holiday triggers my anxiety.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. A birthday feels like the type of day to be grateful for a lot of things but what more can a man say than this: “I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

2. Jokes aside I'm grateful for you, reading this post as I flounder through life, I'm grateful to my wife, to Cassie for sticking by my side, and the same goes for my friends, my family, and none of those are in any particular order except Cassie. She goes at the tip.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

It didn't.

Or at least it felt like it didn't. We finally got some bins dropped off at the storage unit even though we didn't want to but we knew it was going to snow 3 inches overnight so we did.

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

Open presents, eat cake, and try and enjoy myself for a change. It's my birthday I should ... act like it? Sounds made up. Sounds like propaganda from Big Birthday Cake. They're watching. Always watching. Always."

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

This might sound weird but I'm already thinking ahead to my therapy session tomorrow. Like, why do I get so tense around holidays like Christmas and birthdays (weddings do it too)? I'm sure I'm due for some fairly obvious explanation to blindside me and recontextualize my life.

All best
