Yesterday turned out to be very busy. Cassie and I got a storage unit (which we've talked about for years) and cleared things up with the insurance. We're getting a refund! This is good because Amazon was selling 440 N95 masks for $129. Just search "3m aura n95 mask 440"
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I mentioned that I was trying to interact with the players from my D&D group more outside of the game and I want to shout out Rachel for being so cool. I'm realizing that I struggle to feel close to people if they don't know about my history of abuse. Like I'm always on, y'know?
2. I'm grateful for the storage unit. It's always nice to feel a level of control over my life. For years Cassie and I have been in this one room trying desperately to maneuver in too-small-a-space. Now it feels like we can breathe again. Or for the first time.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
I have a history of tearing everything out to clean and organize and burning out midway through, leaving a worse mess than before. We rearranged so much (closet, hall closet, under the bed) and I maintained the spoons to clean up at the end. The room looks as good ever.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
I guess we're back to the writing grindstone. Either that or find another job to apply for. Or both. There are 3 daily things that always need to happen, write, look for work, and go for my daily walk so I have a picture to post for this blog (and nothing else). Let's get to it!
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
I once wrote a fantasy/horror novel where the characters go to Hell and are confronted by their worst demons. I developed a system where I based everything on the characters' Myers-Briggs scores. I dusted it off for this Group Therapy D&D Game and it still works!
All best,
Shane Z.
P.S. if you wanna know what your hellish labyrinth would look like hit me up with your Myers-Briggs type so I can increase my sample size!
