Cassie is still asleep so I am trying to type ... quietly? Not that it matters. The cat is tearing across the room, his bell jingling and jangling. Not sure how she's sleeping through all this actually. Must be tired. At the same time, not sure why I'm awake this early.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. So, I've said some pretty negative things about my alma mater, and I take none of it back, but one of my professors, my favorite professor when I graduated, he posted about amazon selling 440 n95 masks for $129. So I ordered it. Figured it'd cover us for ... a while.
2. While I'm feeling retrospective, I'll also say that the students made my time at university bearable. Even those folks I've lost contact with were wonderful, caring, and inspiring. What I miss most is being surrounded by equally passionate and talented people.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
I didn't end up doing much yesterday. Cassie and I went grocery shopping, picked up my prescriptions, went for a walk, and did household chores. So maybe the thing that went well was simply the routine, the day-in-day-out of maintaining your life and space. Small comforts, right?
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
One thing I'd really like to do today is open up that Cypher System/D&D 5e conversion book and start mapping out how they did it. Take that information and use it to separate my (not) D&D (not) One-Shot from Wizards of the Coast, go back to my roots playing Numenera.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
Today is a stopgap. I have another job application ready to go but I thought I'd send it to the career office to see if I could get any notes on it, any revisions or edits to give me a better chance to get an interview. But that can't happen until tomorrow so ... here I am.
