This is another one of those slow mornings. Had a bout of food poisoning to wrap out the week but I think I'm feeling better. That may have been what had me feeling bad yesterday morning but I'm not sure. Health is complicated and anxiety doesn't make it easier.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I'm grateful for my chores list. Weird right? I set up an excel spreadsheet that opens automatically in the morning with checkboxes for daily and weekly chores. For a historically messy and cluttered guy, it's a game-changer. I've spent my entire adult life striving for this.
2. I'm also, bear with me, grateful for myocarditis. I developed heart inflammation after my last booster shot and had to stop exercising for a month. So I started calorie counting and ... I went from 229 lbs to 209 in three months. <cries>
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
I want to celebrate a small thing. I had a really lovely conversation with @TheDiceGirls about my nightmare boi, Jagger, the abandoned stray turned emotional support goblin. I've missed those pre-pandemic random encounters with lovely people.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
It's already time for another game of D&D which is wild. The days just keep on rolling. I think what I need to do today is to create an action list for my D&D One Shot, kinda like my chores list, so that I can gauge how close to done I am.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
I've been reading "The Caped Crusade" and it is deeply depressing how nerd culture hasn't changed. The things fanboys were decrying about Batman in the 60s are functionally identical to the same furious, entitled, toxic bullshit we see on Twitter every single day.
I didn't have a holistic view of nerd culture growing up, so it struck me how cyclical it all is. Snyderbros today are the same folk who hated the Adam West show in the 60s. What was that Battlestar quote? “All of this has happened before. All of this will happen again.”
