Happy holidays, friends. I think my childlike anticipation of Christmas morning got the better of me and I ended up waking up half-a-dozen times last night, so I am sleep-deprived.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. Maybe it's a silly thing but yesterday I took the chance to share my blog with friends and you can see it in the numbers that readership jumped. What I loved was how many of those friends don't read blogs, but checked it out just for me, so thanks, everyone.
2. As is only fitting for Christmas, I'm grateful for my wife, who is currently brewing a cup of
coffee downstairs. We haven't opened presents
yet so I can't cheat and just thank her for my
brand new Turbo-Man action figure with the
arms and legs that move and the boomerang
shooter and his rock'n roller jet pack and the
realistic voice activator that says *five*
different phrases including, "It's Turbo time!"
Accessories sold separately; batteries not
included.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
While I was out walking I called my friends Ali and John, just to catch up. This past month I've been rather reclusive what with my job hunt and my mental health being what it is. I prefer to reach out the day before because, way I figure it, they'll be less busy that on the day.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
I think probably today is the kind of day that doesn't require a critical action item, so instead, here's my plan. Cassie and I are going to eat cinnamon rolls for breakfast, open presents, play God of War, watch House of the Dragon, and cap it off with a chicken dinner.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
Either I've reached a state of holly-jolly zen or it's just the sleep deprivation is really getting to me. I just don't have much on my mind right now. So I'll leave it at that. Here's to a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and all holiday celebrations that lie betwixt.
