12/27/2022, A Motivated Morning--no wait it's gone

A snowstorm is on its way so my wife and I went for our daily walk sooner rather than later. The only downside is I still feel like moving rather than sitting down and writing. I like feeling active and having a purpose. My therapist thinks a job will help with that. Ridiculous!

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. My therapist (who is not ridiculous; I was being sarcastic) recommended Dr. K's Youtube channel, @HealthyGamerGG. I am grateful for his, Why You Can’t Set Boundaries With Family Or Friends video because it helped me set boundaries with my biological relatives, a first for me.

2. I've been deep in Batman mythology of late and that means rewatching Batman: The Animated Series. I'm grateful for Kevin Conroy.

His performance as the Dark Knight was

amazing, his Finding Batman comic was

impactful, and he just seemed like such a

wonderful man. He is missed.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

I've been reading The Art of Language Invention and I compiled the 22 most common consonants that appear in the 10 most spoken languages in the world to start developing a phonetic inventory for my very first conlang. I'm excited to do vowels next!

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

I spent a lot of time trying to condense it and make it efficient and polished and, folks, I started to hate it. I love going big and broad in my adventures. I like developing nooks and crannies. In allowing myself to expand and explore I've found the fun again.

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

I had a wild idea. I used to do a Twitch stream where I'd take audience prompts and write flash fiction live in front of the audience. After 155 stories I burned out pretty hard and haven't touched Twitch since. I wonder though, what if I resurrected it for game writing?

I'm just always looking for the place where I best fit. Not sure I've found it but I'm happy the folks I've encountered along the way have been so welcoming and accommodating as I try to figure it out. I'll find solid ground sooner or later. Just gotta keep looking.
