It was way too cold and snowy to go for my walk yesterday so enjoy this picture of my street buried under a foot of snow. It's only 7°F right now so ... if I go walking today I guess I'll have to bundle aggressively should I choose to go walking today.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful for my friend, Nik, who supported me ... in beating Elden Ring. Now, hear me out--it might just be a game but it was sweet. He said he was proud of me and neither of us got hugged as kids or something. Nik is a good dude doing dude stuff and I'm grateful for him.
2. I'm also grateful for Elden Ring. Like, I love this game. I love FromSoft's Souls games. I'm one of the people that they dug into deep and refuse to release. Having beaten the Elden Beast yesterday I can finally sit down and start enjoying all the lore videos! No really.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
I got another job application sent off. I feel good about this one. It's hard, riding that line between hopefulness and hopelessness. I don't want to get my hopes up and get disappointed but I also want to allow myself to feel hopeful. I'll let you know how it goes.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
Today would seem to be a writing day. Writing what exactly, I'm not sure. Much like the tires on my rear-wheel drive, I'm struggling to get traction. I guess I am the victim of writer's block, although I don't really believe in writer's block. Just ... nothing sounds good.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
This might sound goofy, but what do you think the Borg and the Cylons would say if they had a debate? In my upcoming D&D/Numenera/Star Trek mishmash I wanted to take the Bord stand-ins in a different direction, so I started looking at the Cylons instead. Wildly different philosophy.
