Being in your 30s is a daily adventure of, "Why does that hurt now?" Good times. I'd never wish to be a teenager again, but what I wouldn't give to have some of that sprightly bounce back. Especially in my back. And my knees.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I'm grateful for my beta readers, critique partners, and any folk kind enough to bounce ideas around with me. I had so many ideas yesterday that Cassie and Chapman had to listen to me wade through, consider, disregard, and finally polish into (what I think is) a really cool idea.
2. I'm grateful for my therapist, who messaged me last night like a devious DM hinting at something special happening today. What more could you ask for. I mean, it's silly and I love it.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
I went for my walk, did some worldbuilding, and spent time with my wife. The last few days have been rough so I'm happy with that. I also got to brainstorm with my buddy Chapman, which is always a pleasure (until it's not we're like loving brothers who are ready to kill each other).
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
I was thinking over Elden Ring lore and TTRPGs, and then I remembered the DS Roleplaying Game, the one that got a lot of bad press when it released, and then I remembered Metal Weave's "Embers" book and got excited. I should see if they're hiring...
All best,
Shane Zellow

P.S. Metal Weave's website says, "We’re always looking for new voices to join us and express themselves in our projects! Whether you’re a new designer, an artist, or an established creator, we want to hear from you! If we have a project that aligns with your skills, we'll be sure to reach out!"
