Hey! Good evening! Today didn't. I don't know how or why but it just didn't. So instead of starting off your day with my blog this feels more like a fireside chat. I mean, it's already dark out. I feel like this whole week has been hibernation. Don't appreciate it.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. In my upcoming TTRPG game, history will play an important role in unraveling the mystery of the big bad. So I went to all my DM friends, showed them the history, and asked them to invent a myth or legend based on it. Conflicting and competing reports of the history I wrote.

2. I really am grateful for my friends going on their weird little creative adventures with me. I love making stuff with my friends. The one thing I miss about college is living close enough to everyone to wrangle them together to create something new and fun.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

I had to write up the TTRPG world history for my friends to riff off of, so that's what I did yesterday and I feel pretty good about it. It's big and epic and sweeping and also barely relevant to the game the characters will play, other than to explain the BBEG's origins.

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

The day is quite literally, already over. But Cassie and I ran to O'Reilly's for a new car battery to replace her old one after it died. Only almost died driving in the snow twice. Maybe three times. But I didn't so we're all good.

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

Just thinking about this upcoming game, thinking about what all I need to write down, and thinking about whether or not I can try and polish it into something worth selling to other people. The ultimate dream, take a fun pressureless hobby and turn it into a job.

All best,
Shane Zellow
