Sometimes you need to listen to a lot of emo music. Just so much emo music. Do you all watch "Emo's Not Dead" on Youtube? I really enjoy their sketches but also their songs slap. What's funniest about this is back when emo music was its most popular ... I didn't listen to it.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful ... so, honestly, hard day to feel grateful about anything. I'm grateful for the emo music. It is here in my life at a time when I need it more than when I was an abused, lonely, anxious, depressed traumatized, abused teenager. Go ... figure.
2. I am grateful for my wife. When she came home and found me dancing to Paramore, what did this absolute legend of a woman do? She joined me.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
I actually got some good writing done on my novel for the first time in a while. Maybe this upped dosage of depression medicine is starting to kick it. Either way, I'm happy with my progress.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
So ... I think I need to unfollow my half-sister on social media. We've never been super close and it turns out we're almost diametrically opposed on political and social issues. She is very 'anti-woke' and I am a leftist. So... gotta unfollow her.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
I remember watching "Supernatural" back in the day and really connecting with Dean's line, "Just because you're blood doesn't mean you're family. You have to earn it." Now at 31 ... I feel like I'm starting to live that and not just appreciate it, y'know?
I've had a lot of folk over my life, surprise surprise, all blood relatives, remind me of the importance of blood relatives. Funny how the only people who have to remind you of that are the ones who want a free pass for being shitty to you.
