Guys, I'm gonna level with you. I didn't even realize I didn't write the blog yesterday. Like. Not even an inkling. So ... woops. Sorry, all. Mostly I'm just sad about not having two blogs to use to post pictures of the trail.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
I am grateful for one of my players, Jenni, who sat with me on Zoom for a few hours just reading through the Numenera rulebook. She's a chaos goblin so I figured she'd want to know every possible detail but I also felt like I needed a DM-sanctioned rules lawyer.
2. I am grateful for the "I Don't Know How to Cook: Cookbook". I've never been super confident in the kitchen (would you believe I have some kitchen-related trauma?) so I've been trying to get better about that of late. I made Cajun Chicken tonight and it was a little crispy but tasty.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
I mentioned already that Jenni and I did some reading from the Numenera book. It went super well though. Numenera is a weird beast in that it almost challenges players to be weird and strange and uncanny. D&D and Numenera call for extremely different levels of weird.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
Once again, the day is over, but tomorrow I'm supposed to have a Zoom session with one of my advocates in the gaming industry. I have no idea what to expect but I'm open to just about anything if it'll help me get a job in a good industry with good potential.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
This new antidepressant dose is really doing its job. I'm feeling way more functional. Writing, exercising, and applying for jobs. It's all a lot easier than it was a few weeks ago. Still, I suspect a stable (and enjoyable) job would do just as good if not better for my mental health.
All best,
Shane Zellow
