Alright, folks, I'm feeling good. I may have hurt my knee yesterday stepping off a particularly tall curb (teach your teenagers about the dangers of wannabe parkour) but I think I'm good for a walk after I finish this blog. Got a knee brace just in case.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful for my new glasses. My old ones weren't terribly scratched and my eyes haven't gotten terribly worse, but man it's nice to see clearly again. Also, I started using those little rubble nubbins to keep my glasses from flying off so I'm hoping these will survive longer.

2. I am grateful for the free time I had today to sit down and read and write. I finished off the last few essays in my pop culture and philosophy books and I did another editorial pass of the opening chapter of my novel.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

So in the time between writing the first paragraph of this blog and this paragraph of this blog, I decided not to go for a walk. Historically I am really bad at listening to my body when it's hurt (it's ... a guy thing?) so I think taking a day to rest is one thing that went well.

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

I still need to sit down and rewrite my resume/cover letter before I can pursue some of these new job opportunities that my advocate directed me toward. It is, I must admit, a deeply soul-crushing process.

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

Do y'all ever find yourself being less social but in a good way? Growing up I self-medicated my depression and anxiety with a massive social circle. I could hang out with a different friend every day for about a month without any repeats. Now? I've talked to four people this past week and one of them was my therapist.

I don't think this is a problem, it's just a radical shift in how I function. I think, through the therapy, I'm getting better at identifying how I want to be treated and what kinds of friendships I want to invest in, but to do that requires some distance to process it all?
All best,

BOOK NOOK

The Ultimate Star Trek and Philosophy, Battlestar Galactica and Philosophy, and The Lord of the Rings and Philosophy

Obviously these books are going to be pretty Philosophy 101, which is good because I never took any classes past that (xD). They've been a great resource for brainstorming way to imbue a fun and engaging ttrpg campaign with some easy-to-understand philosophy!
