Folks, I am tired. Just a solid mid-afternoon, "I want a nap" tired. Maybe it's a result of a gloomy day. I have D&D in an hour but I think I can knock this blog out and take a short nap beforehand. Nothing more than 20 minutes. I will have to set alarms to accomplish this.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. I am grateful for writing again. I struggled for a real long time to find any momentum in my writing, for games or for my novels. This has been great. I'm ... 23 pages into this new draft and feeling really good about my new introductions to the main cast of characters.

2. I am grateful for some of those boundaries and tools my therapist has been teaching me to use and establish and all that good stuff. That friend from a few weeks back reached out and we're having a pretty good conversation. Feeling comfortable, y'know?

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

Like I said before, I got some good writing done today. For the character intros, I've been leaning more on what the characters want to hide from each other than anything else and it's been making scenes way more dynamic. It's adding way more depth too.

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

Well, I got D&D in ... 53 minutes. Cassie is working tonight (all the other managers are at a Taylor Swift podcast) so I need to balance gaming and dinner. Especially since I've hit my 6-month weight loss plateau. Now we enter a holding pattern with the goal of maintaining my current weight.

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

It sucks hitting that plateau even if it was absolutely predicted. As I understand it, this is where many people fall off the wagon, so to speak, so I'm being really thoughtful about my diet choices, especially in the next few weeks. Maintain and then adjust and hopefully see more results.

All best,
Shane Zellow
