Anyone here understand the works of Martin Heidegger? I feel like his work could be very informative on how I portray the Undead in my upcoming TTRPG game. No really. I swear. I tried taking notes from Brian Willems' essay "When the Non-Human Knows Its Own Death" but ... failed.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. Here's a shoutout to one of my players in that upcoming game for being so gung-ho and willing to embrace the unapologetic weirdness of the world we're creating. I've never felt like I had a group of players that would appreciate ethics, philosophy, and metaphysics as I do.

2. I'm also grateful for all my creative friends from outside this game who helped me devise a bunch of lore and legends from the history I wrote up. We've got philosophers and solipsists and dragon-fighters and even more. Next step is to intuit the Numenera explanation of all this.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

I reached out to both friends who'd been struggling earlier in the week, and they were doing better, which was a huge relief. Life kinda sucks in this crumbling decay we call a country but we gotta look out for each other, right? We're living in the before-time of a FromSoft game.

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

I don't see any new job postings so it's a day for chores and god-forbid I actually write something other than this blog. I gotta try something different because whatever this approach is, it ain't working. I just don't know what would work. Any ideas?

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

Plenty, lol. This blog has been a bit scattered, hasn't it? Some days just be like that. Alright, I opened my Haunted Castle Module. It is opened. I just have to ... move from this window to the next window. And then write. Just as soon as I'm done here with my blog.

All best,
Shane Zellow
