One of my favorite people came through town for their brother's birthday and we got to hang out for a few hours. Nothing fancy, just sat around, chatted about life, philosophy, and the decline of our civilization before going on a walk that should have been warmer than it was.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. I am grateful for my friend, taking time from their vacation to hang out. They're just a baby 23 year old but they've accomplished so much, and I'm proud of them. Proud to call them my friend. Even if their age hurts me with every crack of my aging joints (I'm only 31).

2. I am grateful for my friend, Nik, who I've referenced many times on here, but we've been shoring each other's mental health back and forth all week. I'm grateful to have a friend who is as willing to invest in our relationship as I am. Seems like the foundation of a beautiful friendship.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

I got to spend time with a friend. What possible thing could be better than that? Tolkien had it right when he invented Hobbits. Simple pleasures, eating and drinking with good friends, giving and receiving gifts, and smoking illicit substances. That's a good life.

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

Once again the blog got pushed to the very last moment (blind luck I remembered finally that it remained unwritten). I still took time to turn over some more of my philosophy/Numenera research. What is the measure of a man, indeed?

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

I'm feeling pretty zen right now. It was a mellow day spent socializing and relaxing. And I did start a higher dosage of my antidepressants so mayhap they are starting to have an effect. Fingers crossed. May tomorrow be mellow and zen as well. Night folks!

All best,
