Happy April, folks, and ... I don't know, beware? I hate this holiday and I make a general habit of just avoiding it. Once upon a time, I might have found it mildly entertaining but according to my Facebook memories (haunted though it might be) and I see no evidence of such.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful for my player, Jenni. We finally wrapped up her character creation for the Numenera game. I enlisted her to be my aid in games since she seemed the most interested in the mechanics of a new game. So by the time we have a Session Zero, she will have some experience.
2. I am grateful for my wife. We had a good talk today about the state of things. We still treat Covid like a thing (which it is). Thing is, it's exhausting. We are anxious and bored and exhausted. It feels like the world is moving on without us.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
The last few days were fairly mild. The last few books I'd ordered as research for my game (also for fun because I'm that guy): "Star Wars and Philosophy", "Star Wars and Conflict Resolution", and "Otherworldly Politics". Even if the game never happens they looked interesting.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
I kinda want to take Cassie to see either D&D or John Wick 4 tomorrow, crowds allowing (covid, after all). In the before times we had lots of little date days. We used to go to the local diner every Friday for lunch. God, I miss diner food.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
Not too much on my mind. Very tired, honestly. I was considering skipping today's blog. But I forgot to write yesterday's blog. This week has been scattered in more ways than one. Tired in ways that a good night's sleep can't solve.
