Hey gang! How's everyone hanging in there? I debated not even mentioning my long absence but that'd just make it a bigger elephant in the room. Sometimes you fall down on daily habits. Fortunately, the structure of this blog makes it pretty easy to pick up where I left off
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful for this blog, like I said. I feel bad for falling off on it but I'm grateful to be able to return to it Although, I've been reading about Bullet Journals (for DMing a TTRPG and not for daily life) and they look pretty sexy (kidding (mostly)).
2. I am grateful for the players in my upcoming Numenera game (whenever that'll be). They've all gone above and beyond on creating wild and dynamic characters. It's been a fun challenge creating secret connections between characters that the players will get to discover at the table.
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
Hmmmn, we played D&D last night. It went pretty well I would think. Pitched combat against (one of two) BBEG. The fight isn't done but no one is dead yet so that's good. Otherwise, yesterday was fairly chill. It was the unusual instance of Cassie working on a Sunday.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
Well, I have a meeting with my psychiatrist sometime this morning. Otherwise, gotta do the rounds and see if any of the companies I've had my eyes on have posted jobs. Actually I can do that now.
No. The answer is no. Jesus, my guys, I need you to post jobs so I can apply to them.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
I mean, other than the ongoing job hunt and my shame of having to tell my psychiatrist I'm still jobless, ... eh? Not too much on my mind. Still reading a lot of those pop culture and [insert science here] books. Hoping to spruce up my game/writing with more interesting questions.
After all, I love stories that force the characters to engage in deeper ethical and philosophical questions. For this game, I've been interested in Identity, Grief, Death, Socialism, and Nietzsche. Just Nietzsche haha. I'm excited to discuss all of this more thoroughly when we start playing.
