Morning, gang! How y'all hanging in there? Yesterday was rough. My therapist offered to spend the last few minutes of trauma work to settle everything but I was like, "Nah, I got this." I did not got this. But, hey, I'm feeling better and now I know better.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful for my buddy, Nik, because he did some rough work in a program called Sketchup to model the spaceship I was gonna base my Numenera game out of. He helped me identify a few places where I'd made mistakes. If the goal is to one day publish this, want it to be polished.
2. I am grateful for the opportunity to throw myself at this wall again and again. It's a small silver lining to a stormy situation, y'know? Like, small favors and all that. It doesn't feel like it'll ever pay off but I'm trying to remain glad that I can try. I think?
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
Ooph, therapy took it out of me but in a good way. I think we're really circling around a heavy weight that I've been carrying most of my life. Trauma and abuse are fun! ... Even my sarcasm felt dirty writing that. But hey, here's to brighter tomorrows.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
We're back to writing/job hunting/game prep. I'm most excited to continue prepping this homebrew Numenera campaign. I have to say how much I love my players because they've helped me build out so much of the world and we haven't even started playing.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
What is your favorite part of worldbuilding? I think for me it's not the logistics or tone ... I get jazzed by connections. I love those IRL moments of serendipity and I love to think of worldbuilding as creating a bunch of pool balls that bounce and ricochet off one another.
