EMDR is wild y'all. Jesus Christ. I thought I was licking the metaphorical double-A. Instead, I was grabbing the third rail. It was intense. Good, I think, but intense. I'm excited to see what lies on the other side of this process.

TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)

1. I am grateful for my friend, Madi. My therapist started EMDR with a safer bad memory (wasn't safer but still, the goal was to ease into it). A professor called me out in front of the class and Madi grabbed my hand, looked me in the eyes, and said, "Don't you believe him."

2. I am grateful for my creative friends. They have been stress-testing my villains for my upcoming Numenera game. Specifically looking to make sure there aren't any, "Thanos why didn't you just double the resources?" logic holes.

ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY

I reached out and thanked Madi. She teaches now and I said her students are in good hands. She said, "Oh my god I’m crying! That is so sweet, thank you for saying so! I’ve been struggling a lot recently with knowing whether or not I’m good for my students, so this means the world."

ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY

Wizards of the Coast is hiring for a Content Manager so I'm going to fire off an application. Keep your fingers crossed. Never stop knocking on the door, right? I spent a lot of years ... ah hell, it's been a long road here. Just got to keep going. I'm excited to keep going.

WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND

My mind is fairly quiet right now and I'm a little worn out. Today took a lot of spoons out of me. Have you ever been ... sad tired? Melancholy. There it is. I'm feeling melancholy and meditative. But I'm still here.
All best,

BOOK NOOK

The Ultimate Star Wars and Philosophy

I was curious about this one. Like Star Trek, Star Wars is built on philosophical concepts but ... they're less, I suppose, ethical? Star Wars is so much more spiritual and mythic. That said, I loved the chapter that compared Sith to Nietzsche, who was compared to Q in Star Trek and Philosophy. Go figure.
