Morning, gang! Anxiety is still at a high. Not the highest but also it tends to get worse over the course of the day so we'll see where it goes. Still, can't let it get me down. Got stuff to do after all. That's the weirdest part about anxiety and depression. it's debilitating and a nuisance at the same time.
TWO THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR (SPECIFIC)
1. I am grateful for cats. I am more of a dog person but at the end of the day I'm not really a pet person. My family had too many animals growing up and I burned out. That said, my wife started taking care of some neighborhood strays. One of them is now our emotional support cat. He's pretty chill.
2. I am grateful for my word count tracker. I have a word count tracker that breaks my target word count into hours (or days for my monthly tracker). On days when I just feel like I'm pulling teeth, it's nice to see that all I have to write this hour is 128 words, y'know?
ONE THING THAT WENT WELL DURING THE DAY
Yesterday I lay in the grass at the park under a tree. It was magical. No seriously, thinking about it makes me want to cry. I've been so mentally pushing myself to stop and listen to some classic rock and just vibe? Amazing.
ONE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL ACTION ITEM FOR THE DAY
The day is so done. But I got really close (900 out of 1,027 words written). The only thing left tonight is to wind things down with a book. I've been really enjoying Chuck Wendig's "Gentle Writing Advice." That's one parasocial relationship I lucked out on. Seems like a good dude.
WHATEVER IS ON MY MIND
You guys ever listen to Greta Van Fleet? I said classic rock earlier, which they totally are, even if they're basically kids. I really dig their sound. Mostly cause I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin. Man, good music is just good. What bands do y'all like?
